The East Shoreham Railroad Bridge

The East Shoreham railroad bridge.

A couple of weekends ago, Amy and I took a bicycle ride along the backroads of Orwell and Shoreham. One of the attractions of our route was the East Shoreham railroad bridge. This is a large bridge, partially renovated, crossing the Lemon Fair River. It was built in 1897 by the Rutland Railroad Company. The rail line is now abandoned.

View from inside the bridge.

Amy explores the bridge interior.
